Bachelor Theme - "The Risks of Healthcare-Related Infections in the Care of Surgical Patients". The topicality of the topic lies in the fact that nowadays, healthcare-associated infections are one of the most important health problems. According to the World Health Organization, 9-37% of hospitalized patients in Europe join healthcare-associated infections, with around 37000 deaths per year. (3) The aim of the work is to identify the risks of healthcare-associated infections in the care of surgical patients. Research tasks include: 1. Analyze and compile literature on the risks of healthcare associated infections and surgical patient care; 2. Analyze Henderson's Nursing Theory in relation to the risks of healthcare-associated infections in the care of surgical patients; 3. To elaborate the research instrument- interview questions and observation protocol, to conduct the pilot research; 4. Make observations and interview respondents; 5. Process and summarize the results obtained; 6. Make conclusions. Research question: What are the risks of healthcare-associated infections in surgical patients in care? Research tool - observation protocol and interview questions. Research method - qualitative research method. The risks of healthcare-associated infections in the care of surgical patients are the lack of hand hygiene, improper patient preparation for surgery, aseptic failure. It is precisely the observance and fulfillment of these factors that reduce healthcare-associated infections. Keywords: healthcare related infections, infection prevention, hand hygiene, surgical patient care
