Atslēgas vārdi: Glaukoma, pacientu izglītošana, ambulatorā prakse The theme of the Bachelor's thesis is educating Glaucoma patients in outpatient practice. Glaucoma is an optic neuropathy manifested by typical visual field defects, mainly asso-ciated with elevated intraocular pressure. Treatment is lifelong, so the goal of therapy is not to cure, but to normalize eye pressure so that glaucoma does not progress so fast and that the patient's quality of life and visual acuity are kept as normal as possible. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the education of glaucoma patients in outpatient prac-tice. The hypothesis put forward: if a glaucoma patient is educated about his illness, he is bet-ter involved in self-care. Research tool: structured questionnaire. Research Method: Quantitative. The results of the study show that the goal of the work has been achieved and the hy-pothesis put forward is confirmed. 30 literature sources were used for the development of the bachelor thesis. Keywords: Glaucoma, patient education, outpatient practice
