The research questions are what constitutes men's perception of violence against women, how men perceive the prevalence of violence against women, and what men think is violence against women. The research is based on two theoretical approaches: social learning theory and differential association theory. The research method is partially structured interview and vignette method. The results of the study disclose that men get the perception of violence against women from the family, an environment where they grow up and later on from the education. According to men, violence against women in partnership is widespread and men mostly only recognize physical and emotional violence.
