Publisko bibliotēku fiziskā piekļūstamība

Abstract

Bakalaura darba “Publisko bibliotēku fiziskā piekļūstamība” mērķis ir izvērtēt dažādu publisko bibliotēku fizisko piekļūstamību, lai izprastu, kāda ir pašreizējā situācija šajā jomā. Lai iegūtu pilnīgāku priekšstatu par universālās piekļuves aspektiem, pētījuma ietvaros tika apskatīts Ziemeļvalstu relāciju modelis un izpētītas vadlīnijas, likumi un cita attiecīgā literatūra par fiziskās piekļūstamības nosacījumiem publiskajās vietās/bibliotēkās. Izpētītā informācija tika izmantota vadlīniju saraksta sastādīšanai, kurš tika pielietots, lai pētījuma ietvaros veiktu sešu Latvijas publisko bibliotēku novērošanu. Bakalaura darbā tika izmantota arī intervēšanas pētnieciskā metode, kuras ietvaros tika aptaujāti cilvēki ar dažādu veidu traucējumiem, kuri izteica savus viedokļus par bibliotēku piekļūstamības aspektiem un iespējamiem uzlabojumiem. Pētījuma rezultātā, ar novērošanas un interviju palīdzību, tika apstiprināta hipotēze, ka publiskās bibliotēkas Latvijā ir daļēji piekļūstamas, daļai no tām ir nodrošināti minimāli uzlabojumi bibliotēkas piekļuvei un apkalpojumu kvalitātei, bet tiek darīts maz, lai padarītu bibliotēku par vietu, kuru var lietot jebkurš.

The purpose of the bachelor thesis “Physical Accessibility of Public Libraries” was to rank some of the public libraries’ physical accessibility to get an understanding of the current situation in this field. To get a precise comprehension of the aspects of universal accessibility, the Nordic relation model, as well as different guidelines, laws and other relevant literature on the accessibility of public places/libraries were inspected. The researched information was then used to create a guideline checklist that served in the observation of six Latvian public libraries. The interview was also used as a research method in this bachelor thesis, as people with different disabilities shared their opinions and ideas about the current state of public library accessibility and ways to improve it. The results of the observation and interviews were the complete confirmation of the hypothesis that public libraries in Latvia are partially accessible, with a part of them having minimal improvements in terms of library access and service quality, but not a lot is done to make the library a place that welcomes everybody.
