The thesis considers analysis of shallow shear fluid flows in open systems. Influence of various factors, including non-uniformity of vertical velocity distribution and flow depth perturbations on stability analysis results is analyzed. The obtained results indicate that non-uniformity of velocity profile may have significant effect on results of stability analysis, while flow depth perturbations in some cases may be neglected as they probably have little effect. Stability analysis of two-phase shallow flows has been performed and influence of particles on flow stability and perturbation amplitude growth has been investigated. It is shown that particles enhance flow stability and suppress perturbation growth. The thesis includes procedure for derivation of Ginzburg-Landau equation for both onephase and two-phase flows. Analysis of shallow flow with transverse velocity changing downstream has been performed and a solution approximation has been obtained.en_US
