The aim of this work : In theory to analyse the scientific literature and in practice to do a research on how to promote mathematical ideas for 5-6 years old children through play. The theoretical part of the research is based on the authors' opinions (Lieģeniece D, Dzinetere D., Stangaine I, Elkonin, Vigotsky L. Montessori M., Ukstiņa R.) on the development of children aged 5-6 years and the importance of play in the promotion of mathematical ideas.
