Structure of the work: The work consists of two parts - theoretical and empirical, as well as 7 sub-chapters. The first chapter research the view of the essence of imagination in the scientific literature, the characterization of imagination at an older preschool age and the development of imagination in the process of getting to know literary works. The second part describes the aim, tasks, methods and organization of the research, the results of the parents' survey are analyzed and the characteristics of the children involved in the research are given and described a pedagogical pilot activity on the development of children's imagination in the process of getting acquainted with literary works (the author's theoretical structure).
