Saistības starp pozitīvas seksuālās identitātes aspektiem, atklāšanās pakāpi un psiholoģisko distresu lesbietēm, gejiem un biseksuāliem cilvēkiem

Abstract

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot saistības starp pozitīvu seksuālo identitāti, atklāšanās pakāpi un psiholoģisko distresu lesbiešu, geju un biseksuālu (LGB) cilvēku vidū. 246 personas vecumā no 18 līdz 62 gadiem, kas identificējās ar savu bioloģisko dzimumu un LGB identitāti, tiešsaistē aizpildīja Lesbiešu, geju un biseksuālu cilvēku pozitīvās identitātes aptauju, Atklāšanās aptauju un Keslera psiholoģiskā distresa skalu. Pētījuma rezultāti parāda, ka biseksuāliem respondentiem bija zemāka atklāšanās pakāpe un mazāk pozitīva attieksme pret savu seksuālo identitāti nekā homoseksuāliem respondentiem. No pozitīviem LGB identitātes aspektiem tikai autentiskums un sociālais taisnīgums nozīmīgi prognozēja psiholoģisko distresu, turklāt autentiskumam bija mediējošs efekts sakarībā starp augstāku atklāšanās pakāpi un zemāku psiholoģisko distresu.

The present study aimed to examine the links between positive sexual identity, outness, and psychological distress among lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) persons. 246 cisgender adults aged 18 to 62, who self-identified as LGB, completed Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Positive Identity Measure (LGB-PIM), Outness Inventory (OI), and Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10). The results showed that bisexual-identified participants had lower levels of outness and less positive attitude towards their sexual identity compared to participants who self-identified as homosexual. Authenticity and social justice were the only aspects of positive LGB identity that were found to significantly predict psychological distress. Moreover, authenticity had a mediating effect on the relationship between higher outness and lower psychological distress.
