Bandavas zemes seno ceļu modelēšana ar ĢIS rīkiem

Abstract

Senie ceļi ir bijuši pamata elementi cilvēku attīstībai un civilizāciju esamībai. Jebkurai vēsturiskai sabiedrībai valstij, ciltij, impērijai ir bijuši ceļi. Izņēmums nav arī senās baltu ciltis. Viena no senajām baltu ciltīm ir Kursa ar savām mazajām pavalstiņām/zemēm. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir rekonstruēt iespējamo seno ceļu tīklu vienā no senās Kursas zemēm – Bandava. Šajā darbā ir izmantota Mazāko ceļu izmaksu metode (turpmāk - LCP), kas ir plaši izmantota citur pasaulē seno ceļu modelēšanai. Darbā ir izmantots Digitālā reljefa modelis ar izšķirtspēju 10x10 m un cita topogrāfiskā informācija. Darba gaitā tika iegūti 5 modelētie ceļu tīkli, kuri tika veidoti pēc dažādiem kritērijiem. Rezultāti tika salīdzināti ar visiespējamāk senākajām ceļu kartēm Kurzemes ietvaros. Rezultāti parādīja, ka modelētiem ceļiem ir kopīgas tendences, bet atšķirības starp ceļu izvietojumu paliek lielākas, kad tiek modelēti ceļi ar lielām distancēm. Modelētajiem ceļiem ir tendence šķērsot šķēršļus, piemēram, upes vietās, kur senajās kartēs ir ierādīti tilti vai arī, kāda pārcelšanās vietas. Modelēto ceļu sakritība ar senajiem ceļiem ir, bet tā ir subjektīvi vērtējama un prasa detalizētāku analīzi.

Ancient roads have been basic elements for human development and the existence of civilizations. Any historical community - a country, a tribe or an empire had ancient roads. The ancient Baltic tribes also had roads. One of the ancient Baltic tribes is Courians, with its small states. The aim of the bachelor's work is to establish a network of ancient roads in one of the lands of ancient Courland – Bandava. This work we will use the Least cost path method, which is widely used elsewhere in the world for the modelling of ancient roads. A digital terrain model with a resolution of 10 x 10 m is used and combined with other topographical information for LCP. Over the course of the work, 5 modeled road networks were acquired, which were constructed according to different criteria. The results were compared with the oldest road maps of Courland. The results showed that modeled roads share common trends, but the differences between road placement remain larger when highly spaced roads are modeled. Modeled roads tend to cross barriers, such as rivers, where old maps include bridges or objects that helps people to cross the river. There is a coincidence with modeled roads and the ancient roads, but it is subjectly valuable and requires a more detailed analysis.
