Laikmeta reprezentācija filmās "Jelgava 94" un "Paradīze 89"

Abstract

Bakalaura darba “Laikmeta reprezentācija filmās “Jelgava 94” un “Paradīze 89”” mērķis ir atklāt, kā filmās “Jelgava 94” un “Paradīze 89” tiek reprezentēta vēsture un kāda ir filmu saistība ar nostalģiju. Darba teorētisko pamatojumu veido trīs nodaļas. Pirmajā aprakstīti kino valodas elementi: mizanscēna, kadrējums, apgaismojums un krāsa, montāža un skaņa. Otrajā aptverts reprezentācijas jēdziens, turklāt, sīkāk aplūkota tieši vēstures reprezentācija kino. Savukārt, trešajā nodaļā skaidrots, kas ir nostalģija, kā arī atsevišķi aplūkots, kā nostalģija izpaužas kino. Lai veiktu pētījumu par vēsturi reprezentējošām filmām “Jelgava 94” un “Paradīze 89”, izmantotas divas pētniecības metodes: semiotiskā analīze un daļēji strukturēta intervija. Semiotiskā analīze izvēlēta, lai detalizēti apskatītu kino valodas elementu lietojumu filmās un interpretētu to nozīmes, bet daļēji strukturētas intervijas ļāva uzzināt režisoru redzējumu konkrēto kino valodas detaļu izvēlē un, galvenokārt, atklāt filmu saistību ar nostalģiju. Pētījuma rezultāti rāda, ka vēsture konstruēta, balstoties patiesos pagātnes notikumos un cilvēku atmiņu stāstos. Tā filmās reprezentēta nostalģiski, idealizējot un romantizējot bērnību un jaunību – skaistāku, labāku, kāda tā bija. Vēstures reprezentācija panākta, pateicoties atbilstošiem mizanscēnas, kadrējuma, apgaismojuma un krāsas, montāžas un skaņas elementiem. Nostalģija ir apzināta daļa no filmas “Jelgava 94”, bet filmā “Paradīze 89” tā netika nodota apzināti. The aim of bachelor thesis “Representation of an era in films “Jelgava 94” and “Paradīze 89”” is to find out how history is represented in films “Jelgava 94” and “Paradīze 89”, furthermore clarify the film relation to nostalgia. The theoretical basis of this work consists of three chapters. Chapter one describes the elements of cinema language: mise en scene, framing, lighting and color, montage and sound. The second covers the concept of representation, as well as representation of history in cinema. The third chapter explains what exactly is nostalgia and more specifically how nostalgia incorporates in cinema. Semiotic analysis and semi-structured interview were chosen as methods in order to conduct this research about films which represent history. Semiotic analysis was chosen to examine the use of cinema language elements and interpret the meaning behind those, however semi-structured interviews allowed to find out the directors’ vision in the choice of specific details and, above all, to reveal the connection of films with nostalgia. The results of the research show that representation of history in films is based on true past experiences and memories of childhood and youth. History is represented in a nostalgic way, idealising childhood and youth as more beautiful and better than it actually was. The representation of history is achieved by adding the corresponding details of mise en scene, framing, lighting and color, montage and sound. Nostalgia is a deliberate part of film “Jelgava 94”, on the contrary, in film “Paradīze 89” it is not.
