Tabulu skaits – 9. Izmantoto informācijas avotu skaits – 41. Pielikumu skaits – 4. Darbs sastāv no 5 nodaļām. Research title: Development of cognitive interest in outdoor education in oldest preschool age. The author: Olesja Sceglova Scientific supervisor: Tija Zirina The aim of research is to find out and analyze the possibilities of developing cognitive interest in outdoor pedagogy in the oldest preschool age. To achieve the goal of the research, the children were offered outdoor environment corresponding to the discoveries, eith the possibility to perform practical work and experiments on their own. The author of research hypothesized that the development of children’s cognitive interests in outdoor pedagogy would be successful if the educator creates a situation and adjusts an environment in which the child has a natural interest and the need to acquire knowledge, thereby directing the child to self-directed learning. If the educator actualizes the open air as an exiting learning environment and encourages the use of materials available in nature in the learning process. During the learning process the educator ensures the connection of the newly acquired knowledge with the children’s experience and real life. The educator participates and show an example in a research attitude and is interested in outdoor activities. The volume of research study conctains - 83 pages, 21 diagrams, 9 tables and there are 41 information sources used. Number of attachments - 4. The research contains 5 chapters. The first chapter is the analysis ofthe notion of cognitive interest in theories of educators and psychologists. In the second chapter was studied the development of the cognitive interest of oldest preschool children in preschool. The third chapter is the analysis of regularities of children’s development in the oldest preschool age in the context of the research problem. The fourth chapter contains an empirical study of possibilities for developing cognitive interest in outdoor pedagogy in the oldest preschool age. Chapter five is a second empirical study of possibilities for developing cognitive interest in outdoor pedagogy using competency approach in education.
