Fiziskām personām ir tiesības iegūt savā īpašumā civilos šaujamieročus. Šaujamieroču apritei ir jābūt drošai un tādēļ, ņemot vērā tirdzniecības un pārvietošanās brīvību Eiropas Savienībā, ir nepieciešami vienoti standarti visās dalībvalstīs. Eiropas Savienības tiesību viens no galvenajiem principiem ir tuvināt dalībvalstu normatīvos aktus un atrast tam kopīgu, atbilstošu un pieņemamu pieeju dalībvalstu starpā. Pētījumā tiek apskatīts Eiropas Savienības šaujamieroču aprites tiesiskais regulējums, tā izmaiņas laika gaitā un ar izmaiņām saistītie cēloņi. Ir izpētīti ar tēmu saistīti normatīvie akti, tiesu prakse un dažādi literatūras materiāli. Pētījums sastāv no piecām nodaļām, kurās analizēta šaujamieroču klasifikācija, ar šaujamieroču apriti saistītās galvenās drošības problēmas un to risinājumi, šaujamieroču izplatība Eiropas Savienības, Eiropas Ekonomiskās zonas valstīs un Šveicē, kā arī izskatītas tiesiskā regulējuma īpatnības un izdarīti secinājumi. Individuals have the right to acquire civilian firearms. The movement of firearms must be safe and, therefore, in view of the freedom of trade and movement within the European Union, common standards are needed in all Member States. One of the key principles of European Union law is to approximate the laws and regulations of the Member States and to find a common, appropriate and acceptable approach to it between the Member States. The study examines the legal regulation of the movement of firearms in the European Union, its changes over time and causes of the changes. Legislation, court practice and various literature materials related to the topic have been studied. The study consists of five chapters. The study analyzes the classification of firearms, the main security problems related to the movement of firearms and their solutions, the prevalence of firearms in the countries of the European Union and the European Economic Area and Switzerland, examines the specifics of the legal framework and draws conclusions.
