The aim of this study was to find out what are the values and level of job satisfaction among self-employed and employees. The study involved 62 people of working age aged from 20 to 58 (53 women - 86,9%; 8 men - 13,1%), and participants were divided into 2 types of employment groups: self-employed and entrepreneur group as well as employee group. Different type of professionals were asked to fill out the full version of the Portrait Values Questionnaire (Schwartz, 1996, 2001) and Overall job satisfaction scale (Brayfield & Rothe, 1951). The results showed that self-employed and entrepreneurs have higher level of job satisfaction than employees. On the other hand, the values did not show a statistically significant difference. The calculations were also performed with value dimensions, and the results showed that value dimension of self-transcendence is higher for self-employed and entrepreneurs than for employees.
