Izglītība ilgtspējīgai attīstībai: kopienas dārzu piemērs

Abstract

Mūsdienās pieaug izpratne un investīcijas jautājumos, kas veltīti ilgtspējīgai pilsētvides attīstībai, kur nozīmīga loma ir pilsētvides kopienām, to zināšanām, motivācijai un rīcībām. Pilsētvides ilgtspējīgai attīstībai nenoliedzami svarīgs ir zaļo infrastruktūru jautājums, kas vienlaicīgi spēj nodrošināt kā pilsētas iedzīvotāju rekreācijas funkcijas, tā arī virkni nozīmīgu ekosistēmu pakalpojumu, tai skaitā arī izglītības un informācijas nesēja funkcijas. Latvijā joprojām trūkst zinātniska un pētniecībā balstīta argumentācija par labu tādām zaļās infrastruktūras formām, kā urbānie un kopienu dārzi, kas tikmēr ārzemēs jau ir pētnieciski apzināti un kalpo ilgtspējīgas pilsētvides attīstības mērķu praktiskai īstenošanai. Pateicoties globāli pieņemtajam Izglītības Ilgtspējīgai Attīstībai modelim un metodikai, tiek organizēta visaptveroša ilgtspējas sociālo, ekonomisko un vides dimensiju apzināšana, veicinot sabiedrībā nevien zināšanu un prasmju, bet arī vērtību attīstību, kas līdz ar to arī veicina ilgtspējīgas rīcības un dzīvesveida, kā arī vides apziņas attīstību mūsdienu globālās un lokālās attīstības kontekstā. Kopienas dārzos ir augsts zinātniskās pētniecības potenciāls, pamatojoties uz to, ka Latvijā urbānās dārzniecības un kopienas dārzu projekti industriālās teritorijās ir ārkārtīgi nedaudz, turklāt veidoti, vadoties pēc atšķirīgas motivācijas, atšķirīgām vadlīnijām. Pētījumu tēmas var variēt, bet kā divas galvenās pamatjomas var minēt ne tikai dabas zinātni, bet arī sociālo zinātni.

Nowadays, awareness and investment in issues dedicated to sustainable urban development is growing, recognizing that urban communities play a key role in the knowledge, motivation and actions they provide. The issue of green infrastructure is undeniably important for the sustainable development of the urban environment, which can be useful both for the functions of urban renewal, as well as for a number of important ecosystem services and for education and information functions. In Latvia there is still an alarming lack-of scientific and research-based arguments in favor of green infrastructure, such as urban and community gardens, which in the meantime are already broadly researched abroad and in the urban environments around the globe serve as the practical implementation of the goal of sustainable urban development. Globally accepted Education for Sustainable Development model and methodology, serves in implementation of social, economical and environmental comprehension, providing society with not only the knowledge and the skills, but also improved values, that ultimetly result in sustainable action and lifestyle choices, aswell as the development of environmental awareness in the context of today's global and local development. Community gardens have a high potential for scientific research, based on the fact that in Latvia there are extremely few urban horticulture and community garden projects in industrial areas, moreover, their development is based on different motivations and different guidelines. Research topics can vary, but the two main areas of potential research include natural sciences and social sciences.
