Detailed studies of magnetic anomalies in the territory of Latvia have not been performed so far. The scale and accuracy of geophysical research in the mapping of the magnetic field of the territory of Latvia in the 20th century is not sufficient to qualitatively explain the factors of formation of individual anomalies. The aim of the master's thesis is to update the methodology and accuracy of magnetic research in Latvia, and to study the main factors of Staicele's magnetic anomaly formation. Within the framework of field research, the total magnetic field of the Earth was mapped in a 46.5 km wide area. The obtained magnetic intensity values were used to create a magnetic anomaly map and compare it with the Latvian magnetic anomaly map created in the last century. From the data of the boreholes adjacent to the study area, geological sections were created, which were used in the work to analyze the relationship between the structure of the Earth's crust and the formation of magnetic anomalies. In the area of magnetic anomaly spreading there are strata of iron ore, which allows to consider that the spread of anomalies is related to a set of highly magnetized rocks, which have an independent magnetic field.
