44% no visām blakusslimībām sastāda kardiopulmonālas. Nowadays, more and more people suffer from sleep disorders, so the issue of targeted diagnosis of sleep disorders and multidisciplinary treatment of sleep disorders, including appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment, is becoming topical. The Master's Thesis “Trends in sleep prescribing” was created with the aim to evaluate the treatment habits of sleep disorders. Master's thesis consists of 2 parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part of the work was created using literature in Latvian and English. The practical part of the work was implemented as a quantitative cross-sectional study, in the framework of which 3 questionnaires were created. Practically working specialists in the field of medicine and pharmacy (family doctors, psychiatrists, pharmacists) filled in questionnaires, the results of which were summarized, displayed graphically and analyzed. Results show that comorbids, in the age group of 75 years and older, women are more likely to complain of sleep disorders. 44% of all comorbidities are cardiopulmonary. There is a certain seasonal predisposition - more often ill in the fall. The tendency to prescribe sleeping pills is high - almost 50% of GPs prescribe them to half of their patients, more than half. When prescribing strictly controlled sleeping pills, family doctors prefer Z-substances, but psychiatrists-BZD group medications. The average duration of treatment for sleep disorders is 4-6 months. Therapy with strictly controlled medications usually lasts no more than 3 weeks. In conclusion, sleep disorders have high comorbidity. Patients usually turn to the doctor with complaints about difficulty falling asleep. Patients are not aware of the most serious side effects of strictly controlled sleeping pills.
