Nowadays tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is a well-known virus infection. TBE is an infection carried by lxodes type of ticks. Currently in Latvia 22 counties are found as endemic, and the risk of getting TBE is especially high. That’s why it is importand and actual to educate population about TBE and prevention possibilities. The object of the work was to evaluate awareness of Latvian residents about TBE virus infection and its prevention methods by using online survey. The results indicate that Latvian citizens are mostly informeted about TBE virus and possible prevention methods. 146 of the respondents agreed that vaccination is the most effective method of prevention against TBE. However only 75 respondents answered that they are and 104 are not vaccinated, thus higlights keeping the tendency that there are more people who choose to do not a vaccination, by pointing out that there might be negative side effects or they do not have interaction with viral infections spreaders.
