Promocijas darbā tiek pētīta akciju tirgus ietekme uz ekonomiku S & P 500 indeksa piemērā un makroekonomiskie rādītāji ar pētījumu jautājumu par to, vai akciju tirgu var uztvert kā vienu no vadošajiem ekonomikas barometriem. Teorija novēroja pieejamo literatūru par akciju tirgus darbību, tās līdzīgo attīstību un ekonomiskajiem cikliem, iepriekšējo pētījumu analīzi par akciju tirgus un makroekonomisko rādītāju attiecībām. Analītiskā daļa palīdzēja apkopot ceturkšņa datus starp 2014. -2019. Lai gan empīriskā daļa noslēdz pētījumu ar statistiskiem aprēķiniem. Tādējādi savukārt reālais iekšzemes kopprodukts (IKP) un patēriņa cenu indekss (PCI) ir spēcīgākie pozitīvi korelētie un statistiski nozīmīgie rādītāji, bet bezdarba līmenim ir negatīva korelācija. The thesis researches the impact of the stock market on the economy in the example of the S&P 500 index and macroeconomic indicators with the research question of whether the stock market can be perceived as one of the leading barometers of the economy. The theory observed the available literature on the stock market functioning, its similar evolution and economic cycles, the analysis of the previous researches on the relationship between the stock market and macroeconomic indicators. The analytical part helped to gather the quarterly data between 2014-2019, showed on the graphics. While the empirical part concludes the research with statistical calculations. Thus, in turn, exhibits the real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and Consumer Price Index (CPI) as the strongest positively correlated and statistically significant indicators, while Unemployment rate has a negative correlation.
