Pētījuma izlase sastāv no vispārējās populācijas (N=171).
dc.description.abstract | The aim of this research is to find out what is the relationship between depression symptoms and working memory. In the theoretical part of this study information about the relationship between depression and working memory, was collected. This study includes a sample of general population (N=171). In addition to collected demographic data, this research also used a newly developed Depression Symptom Scale (Vanags, 2020) that consists of 65 different statements and includes a variety of depression symptoms, and a Numeric Memory test (Vanags & Ekmanis, 2018) which consists of different working memory aspects, such as: attention efficiency, working memory capacity, updating information, and switching function. The result of this research partially supports hypothesis, seeing how there are very weak but statistically important positive and negative correlations between depression symptoms and attention efficiency, updating information and switching functions as well as working memory capacity.
