Starptautisko studentu mācīšanās pieredzes interpretatīvā fenomenoloģiskā analīze COVID-19 kontekstā

Abstract

Šī interpretatīvās fenomenoloģijas analīzes (IPA) pētījuma mērķis ir atklāt to ārvalstu studentu pieredzi, kuri COVID-19 pandēmijas laikā mācījās ārzemēs. Šis pētījums pēta, kādu jēgu ārvalstu studenti piešķir savai pieredzei un uztverei, studējot ārzemēs. Šajā pētījumā ārvalstu studenti tiek definēti kā studenti, kuri vismaz vienu semestri studē universitātē valstī, kas nav viņu mītnes valsts. Aptaujājot ārvalstu studentus, kuri studējuši trīs dažādās Eiropas universitātēs, autore apraksta starptautiskās studentu pieredzes fenomenu globālās krīzes laikā. Šī pētījuma rezultāti atklāj gan pozitīvos, gan negatīvos starptautiskās studentu pieredzes aspektus, kuru mērķis ir sniegt svarīgu ieskatu universitāšu administratoriem, darbiniekiem un mācībspēkiem par to, kā vislabāk atbalstīt starptautiskos studentus tagad un nākotnē.

The purpose of this Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) study is to illuminate the experiences of international students who studied in a foreign country during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study explores how international students make sense of their experiences and perceptions while studying abroad. In this research international students are defined as students who are studying at a university in a country other than their home country, for at least one semester. By interviewing international students, who studied at three different universities in Europe, the author describes the phenomenon of the international student experience during a global crisis. The results of this study reveal both positives and negatives aspects of the international student experience, which aims to provide important insight to university administrators, staff, and faculty about how to best support international students now and in the future.
