Pieaugušo pašnovērtētās bērnības pieredzes un īpaši jūtīga indivīda iezīmju dzimumatšķirības

Abstract

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, vai pastāv saistības starp agrīno pieaugušo indivīdu pašnovērtētu bērnības pieredzi un īpaši jūtīga indivīda (turpmāk tekstā – ĪJI) iezīmēm, kā arī analizēt dzimuma atšķirības ĪJI nelabvēlīgas bērnības pieredzes kontekstā. Pētījumā piedalījās 236 respondenti (134 sievietes, 102 vīrieši) vecumā no 20 līdz 30 gadiem. Pētījumā tika izmantotas divas aptaujas: Īpaši jūtīga indivīda pašnovērtējuma anketa (Highly Sensitive Person Scale (HSP Scale), Aron et al., 1997) šī darba ietvaros tika tulkota un adaptēta no angļu valodas; Bērnības traumas aptauja (Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ), Bernstein & Fink 1995). Pētījuma rezultāti atklāja statistiski nozīmīgu saistību starp respondentu pašnovērtētām ĪJI iezīmēm un kopumā norādīto nelabvēlīgo bērnības pieredzi, kā arī tika atklātas saistības starp bērnībā piedzīvoto emocionālo vardarbību un augstākiem rādītājiem ĪJI iezīmju skalā. Iegūtie rezultāti norādīja, ka respondentu pašnovērtētā bērnībā pieredzētā emocionālā vardarbība izskaidro 3% ĪJI iezīmes kopējā pētījuma izlasē. Kopumā ĪJI rādītājos sieviešu izlase norādīja augstākus rezultātus nekā vīriešu izlase. Tika atklātas arī statistiski nozīmīgas atšķirības ĪJI rādītājos vīriešu un sieviešu apakšgrupās, kurās respondenti bija ieguvuši augstākus rezultātus par vidējo aritmētisko rādītāju kopējā izlasē, un šo respondentu norādīto bērnībā piedzīvoto seksuālās vardarbības pieredzi.

The aim of the study was to find out, if there is any correlation between self-reported childhood experience of young adults and traits of highly sensitive person (hereafter - HSP), as well to analyze gender differences in the context of HSP's adverse childhood experience.236 respondents (134 women, 102 men) aged 20 to 30 years took part in the study. Two surveys were used in the study: Highly Sensitive Person Scale (HSP Scale; Aron et al., 1997) is a self-reported measure that was translated and adapted from English to Latvian for this study; Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ; Bernstein & Fink, 1995). The results of the study indicate that there is a statistically significant correlation between respondent's self-reported traits of HSP and adverse childhood experiences reported by them, as well as a correlation between emotional abuse in childhood and higher rates in HSP scale. The obtained results show that the respondents’ self-reported emotional abuse in childhood explains 3% of HSP traits in the overall sample of the study. Overall, women sample showed higher results in HSP scale than men sample. There were also statistically significant differences between men and women subgroups, in which respondents showed results on the HSP self-reported questionnaire that was higher than the arithmetic means in the overall sample, and the childhood sexual abuse experience reported by these respondents.
