Abstract

Pamatotu lēmumu pieņemšana jebkurā uzņēmumā ir ļoti svarīga, tāpēc ir izstrādāti uzņēmējdarbības intelekta (BI) rīki, kas nodrošina lēmumu pieņēmējus ar nepieciešamo informāciju. BI rīki iedalās tādos, kur ir nepieciešamas padziļinātas IT zināšanas, lai ar tiem pilnvērtīgi strādātu kā arī tādos, kurus dēvē par pašapkalpošanās BI rīkiem un to mērķauditorijā ir cilvēki ar salīdzinoši zemākām IT zināšanām. Lai veiksmīgi izstrādātu BI projektu un rastu atbildes uz biznesa procesu problēmām, BI rīkam padotie dati bieži vien tiek apvienoti vienā datu noliktavā, bet ir dažādas pieejas kā datus noliktavā saglabāt. Bakalaura darbā autors pārbauda vai 2020. gadā nopublicētais apvietotais zvaigznes shēmas modelis spēj atvieglot darbu BI rīka izmantotājam, kuram ir zemas zināšanas par datu uzglabāšanas principiem un bez kļūdām iegūt vēlamo atbildi.

Making thought trough decisions in any business is very important, therefore business intelligence (BI) tools have been invented to provide decision makers with the information they need. BI tools are divided into traditional ones, where in-depth IT knowledge is required to fully operate with them, and into self-service BI tools that are targeting people with low IT knowledge. To successfully develop a BI project and find answers to business process problems, the data fed to the BI tool is often combined in one data warehouse, but there are different approaches to storing data in the warehouse. In this bachelor thesis author tests whether the unified star schema model published in 2020 can facilitate the work of a BI tool for user who has low knowledge of data storage principles and can get the desired answer without errors.
