Speciālā lietojuma valodas tekstu tulkošana: atšķirības starp juridiskajiem un tehniskajiem tulkojumiem

Abstract

Speciālā lietojuma valoda (SLV) pēta konkrētas profesionālās jomas valodu, tādēļ attiecīgajās jomās profesiju pārstāvji to izmanto kā darbarīku. Augsti pieprasītas jomas, kurās ir nepieciešams pārzināt SLV, ir tiesību zinātne un tehnoloģijas. Minētajās profesijās juridisko un tehnisko tekstu tulkošana ir ļoti nepieciešama jomu vispusības un starptautiskuma dēļ. Šī iemesla dēļ šī darba mērķis ir identificēt SLV tekstu tulkošanas īpatnības un definēt juridisko un tehnisko tulkojumu atšķirības, analizējot no latviešu uz angļu valodu iztulkotus juridiskos un tehniskos tekstus. Pētījuma jautājums tika izvirzīts, lai izpētītu SLV tekstu tulkošanas īpatnības un noteiktu atšķirības starp juridiskajiem un tehniskajiem tulkojumiem no angļu valodas latviešu valodā. Literatūras analīze norāda, ka SLV tekstu tulkošanā jāņem vērā mērķa teksta iecere, teksta veids un žanrs. Pētījums parāda, ka, neskatoties uz to, ka abu tulkoto dokumentu iecere ir informēt, un teksta veids ir informatīvs, tulkotāji ir izmantojuši dažādas tulkošanas stratēģijas.

Language for specific purposes (LSP) studies the language of a particular professional field, thus professionals use LSP as a tool in their respective fields. High-demand fields, which require knowledge of LSP, are law and technology. In the said occupations, translation of legal and technical texts is highly necessary due to the comprehensiveness and internationality of the fields. For this reason, the present thesis aims to identify the peculiarities of LSP text translation and define the differences of legal and technical translations throughout a qualitative analysis of translated legal and technical texts, from English to Latvian. A research question was proposed to study the peculiarities of LSP text translation and to identify the differences between the legal and technical translations from English into Latvian. The literature analysis shows that the purpose of the target text, text type, and genre are to be considered in LSP text translation. The research indicates that even though both documents’ purpose is to inform and the text type is informative, the translators have applied different translation strategies.
