Demokrātijas lejupslīdes salīdzinājums Polijā un Ungārijā: Eiropas savienības reakcija

Abstract

Šajā darbā – “Demokrātijas lejupslīdes salīdzinājums Polijā un Ungārijā: Eiropas Savienības reakcija” – tiek veikta padziļinātāka teorētiskā demokrātijas lejupslīdes izpēte koncentrējoties uz tiesiskuma aspektu. Autore, izmantojot teorētisko analīzi, aplūkos abu valstu individuālos tiesiskuma pārkāpumus, kā arī Eiropas Savienības reakciju uz Ungārijas un Polijas gadījumiem un to salīdzinās izmantojot divus autores izvēlētos kritērijus. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, cik ļoti atšķiras Eiropas Savienības reakcijas laicīgums un intensitāte apzinoties, ka Polija un Ungārija ir pārkāpušas ES noteiktās pamatvērtības un principus.

This paper – "Comparison of the democratic backsliding in Poland and Hungary: the response of the European Union" – provides an in-depth theoretical study of the democratic backsliding while focusing on the rule of law. Using theoretical analysis, the author will look at the individual violations of the rule of law in both countries, as well as the European Union's response to the cases of Hungary and Poland, and compare it using two criteria chosen by the author. The aim of the paper is to find out how much the timing and intensity of the European Union's response differ, recognizing that Poland and Hungary have violated the fundamental values and principles set by the EU.
