Kanisterapijas suņi bibliotēku lasīšanas veicināšanas programmās

Abstract

Lasīšanas veicināšanas programmu ar kanisterapijas suņu iesaisti bērniem koncepts kļūst arvien pazīstamāks Latvijas publisko bibliotēku vidū, taču to īsteno vien dažas. Kamēr citviet pasaulē koncepts jau guvis plašu atzinību, Latvijā par tā potenciālu vēl tikai spriež. Bakalaura darba “Kanisterapijas suņi bibliotēku lasīšanas veicināšanas programmās” mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā norit sagatavošanās process lasīšanas veicināšanas programmu nodarbībām ar kanisterapijas suņiem, kā norit pašas nodarbības un kā šādu nodarbību formātu vērtē bibliotēku pārstāvji un sākumskolas skolotājas. Lai sasniegtu pētījuma mērķi, izmantotas daļēji strukturētas intervijas ar bibliotēku pārstāvjiem un sākumskolas pedagogiem. Pētījuma rezultāti norāda uz koncepta potenciālu bibliotekārajā un pedagoģiskajā darbā, kā arī uz novērotajiem pozitīvajiem aspektiem darbā ar bērniem lasīšanas nodarbību laikā un pēc tām. Concept of reading promotion programs with canine therapy dogs for children is becoming more well-known among Latvian public libraries, but only a few are implementing it. While the concept has already been recognized and approved elsewhere in the world, its potential is still being discussed in Latvia. The aim of this Bachelor’s thesis “Canine therapy dogs in library reading promotion programs” is to find out what the process of preparation for reading lessons and lessons itself is like and how the concept is assessed by library representatives and primary school teachers. Semi-structured interviews with representatives of the libraries and primary school teachers are used to achieve this aim. The results of the research show the potential of the concept in library and pedagogical work, as well as the observed positive aspects of work with children during and after reading lessons.
