Studentu pieredze klātienes un attālinātajā augstākajā izglītībā Latvijā

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā ”Studentu pieredze klātienes un attālinātajā augstākajā izglītībā Latvijā” tiek apskatīts kā negaidītā pāreja uz attālinātām mācībām ir izmainījusi Latvijas klātienes studentu izglītības pieredzi. Mērķis ir noskaidrot kā mainījusies mācību, sociālā un kognitīvā klātesamība (izglītības pieredze). Bakalaura darbs ir balstīts izziņas kopienas (Community of Inquiry) teorētiskajā modelī, kurā operacionalizētas iepriekšminētās klātesamības. Dati iegūti ar tiešsaistes aptaujas palīdzību (n=408). Izveidotā anketa balstīta 34 izziņas kopienas teorētiskajā modelī definētos apgalvojumos. Ar statistiskās analīzes palīdzību darbā tiek secināts, ka attālinātajās mācībās izglītības pieredze ir pasliktinājusies visos izziņas kopienas teorētiskajā modelī definētajos aspektos. Attālinātajās mācībās studenti mazāk piekrita, ka pasniedzēji palīdzēja noturēt fokusu un apņēmību mācīties, iesaistīja un noturēja produktīvās diskusijās, kā arī mazāk piekrita tam, ka jutās ērti komunicējot mācību vidē, iesaistoties diskusijās, mijiedarbojoties ar citiem kursu dalībniekiem. Attālinātās mācības ir palielinājušas individuālās apņēmības lomu. Būtiski skarti tādi aspekti kā ērta komunikācija un mijiedarbība. Iespējams, nepieciešama lielāka pasniedzēju loma ērtas atmosfēras radīšanai aktīvi, iesaistot un noturot studentus diskusijās. Pēc izziņas kopienas teorētiskā modeļa pasniedzējiem būtu jāpanāk vienprātību un sapratni kursu dalībnieku vidū, izceļot izglītojamo ieguldījumu, veidojot mācīšanās kultūru, iesaistot studentus diskusijās un novērtējot mācību procesa efektivitāti. Nepieciešams panākt iesaistīšanos jēgpilnā dialogā, izmantojot emociju izteikšanu, humora izmantošanu un pašatklāšanos.

The bachelor's thesis ”Students’ experience in face-to-face and distance higher education in Latvia” focuses on how the unexpected transition to distance learning has changed the educational experience of Latvian full-time students. The aim is to find out how teaching, social and cognitive presence (educational experience) has changed. Bachelor's thesis is based on the Community of Inquiry theoretical model in which previously mentionded presences are operationalized. Data were obtained through an online survey using a Community of Inquiry questionnaire (n=408). The questionnaire is based on 34 statements defined in the Community of Inquiry. Using statistical analysis it is concluded that the experience of distance learning has deteriorated all aspects defined in the Community of Inquiry. In distance learning, students were less likely to agree that teachers helped maintain focus and commitment to learning, engaged and kept productive discussions, strengthened a sense of community, and also were less likely to agree that they felt comfortable communicating in the learning environment, engaging in discussions, interacting with other course participants. Distance learning has increased the role of individual commitment. Sense of community, convenient communication and interaction are significantly affected. There may be a need for a greater role for teachers in promoting open environment by actively involving and retaining students in discussions. According to the Community of Inquiry, teachers should reach consensus and understanding among course participants by highlighting the learner's contribution, creating a learning culture, involving students in discussions and evaluating the effectiveness of the learning process. It is necessary to achieve engagement in a meaningful dialogue through the expression of emotions, the use of humor and self-disclosure.
