Grāmatas un filmu "Hobits" naratīva un semiotiskā analīze

Abstract

Bakalaura darba “Grāmatas un filmu “Hobits” naratīva un semiotiskā analīze” mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā atšķiras viena un tā paša stāsta atveidojums grāmatā un filmā un, kas tiek mainīts, filmas adaptēšanas procesā. Mērķa sasniegšanai tiek izmantota naratīva analīze, kas palīdz sakārtot notikumus laika un notikumu līnijā, un semiotiskā analīze, ar kuras palīdzību var izpētīt atsevišķus, filmā pielietotos, elementus, kā, piemēram, darbības vidi, montāžu, specefektus u.c. Teorētiskajā daļā tiek apskatīts klasiskais Holivudas naratīvs un kino valoda, kas sniedz ieskatu filmu veidošanas procesā. Kā pamats naratīva struktūrai tiek apskatīti Džons Jorks un Vladimirs Props, kuri ir veidojuši stāsta struktūru, un Kristīne Tompsone, kura konkrēti apraksta Holivudas naratīvu. Papildus tam tiek sniegts ieskats par Deividu Varku Grifitu, kurš ir ietekmējis montāžas attīstību. Pilnvērtīgam pētījumam ir aprakstīts arī žanrs, populārā kultūra un filmu adaptācija. Pētījuma beigās ir apkopoti rezultāti un izdarīti secinājumi par sasniegtajiem rezultātiem, pētījumu gaitu un izvelētajām metodēm.

The aim of the Bachelor’s Thesis “Narrative and semiotics analysis of book and movies “The Hobbit”” is to find out how the same story is told in the book and the movies and what is changed in the process of film adaptation. To atchieve the goal, narrative analysis is used, which helps to arrange the events on the time and event line, and semiotic analysis, which helps to explore the application of elements in movie, such as enviroment, editing, speceffects etc. The theoretical part takes a look at the classical Hollywood narrative and language of cinema, which helps to understand what influences the film-making process. It is based on theory of John Yorke and Vladimir Prop, who have created the base of narrative structure, and Kristina Thompson, who specifically describes the Hollywood narrative. In addition there is insight provided of David Vark Griffith, who has influenced the development of movie editing. The research also includes the information of genre, popular culture and film adaptation. At the end of the thesis, the results are summarized and conclusions are made about the results achieved, course of the research and relevance of chosen methods.
