In the master’s thesis “The person’s right to defence in criminal proceedings for the laundering of the proceeds from crime” the author analyses the historical development of the regulation of money laundering, as well as the current international and national regulation. The author also focuses on understanding criminal laundering as a criminal offence. The author of the work also examines the legal framework for the freezing of proceeds of crime and its impact on possible criminal proceedings. When assessing a person's right of defence in criminal proceedings on money laundering, the author examines the procedural rights and obligations of the person and the real possibilities for exercising them, as well as possible violations of fundamental rights, including the right to fair trial. The conclusion of the work deals with the possibility of completing criminal proceedings. The conclusions resulting from the work are summarised in the form of thesis.
