Tematiskie video skolēnu angļu valodas vārdu krājuma pilnveidei 4. klasē

Abstract

Diplomdarba autore pēta dažādus veidus, kā tematiskie video varētu palīdzēt 4. klašu skolēniem pilnveidot vārdu krājumu angļu valodā. Darba autore uzskata, ka jebkura jauna valoda ir jāapgūst tāpat, kā cilvēki apgūst savu dzimto valodu, klausoties un atkārtojot. Pētījuma metode ir gadījuma izpēte, kas sastāvēja no divām daļām: pilotpētījuma un pamatpētījuma. Tika izmantotas dažādas datu vākšanas metodes: anketēšana, intervijas un novērojums. Pilotpētījums tika veikts autores skolotāja prakses laikā, veicot anketēšanu un noverojumu. Pētījuma izlasi veidoja trīs 3. klases skolēni pilotpētījuma laikā, un pamatpētījumā piedalījās 14 skolēni no 4. klases. Autore bija šo skolēnu angļu valodas skolotāja. Šim pētījumam tika izvēlēta 4. klase, jo daži bērni jau labi saprot angļu valodu, kamēr citiem tā sagādāja grūtības. Stundu dinamika bija mainīga, jo dažus bērnus neinteresēja mācīšanās stundās, jo viņi valodu zināja labāk, salīdzinot ar citiem, kuriem bija grūtības tikt līdzi mācību vielai.

The author of the Diploma Paper researches different ways how thematic videos could help Grade 4 students to improve their vocabulary in the English language. The author of this Paper believes that any new language should be learned the same way that people learn their native tongue, through listening and repetition. The research method is a case study that consisted of two parts: a pilot study and the main research. Different data collection methods were used: questionnaires, interviews and observation. The pilot study was held during the author’s teaching practice, when the questionnaires and observation were carried out. There were 3 students chosen from Grade 3 as the research sample in the pilot study and 14 Grade 4 students in the main research. The author was the English teacher of these students. Grade 4 was chosen for this research as few children already had certain understanding of the English language while other struggled. Changing dynamics was observed in these lessons because some children were not interested in the level of learning as they knew the language better than their mates, while those who struggled had a hard time.
