Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot tēvu kompetences izjūtas saistību ar emociju regulāciju. Pētījumā piedalījās 139 tēvi vecumā no 19 līdz 85 gadiem (M = 37,28; SD = 7,47). Atslēgas vārdi: emociju regulācija, kompetences izjūta, kompetences izjūta tēviem The aim of the study was to find out the relationship between fathers' sense of competence and the regulation of emotions. The study examined 139 fathers aged 19 to 85 years (M = 37.28; SD = 7.47). The question of the study was: is there a correlation between fathers' sense of competence and the regulation of their emotions? The following tools were used for the measurements: Parental competence scale (Parenting Sense of Competence Scale, Johnston & Mash, 1989) and Emotion regulation survey (Emotion Regulation Questionnaire – ERQ, Gross & John, 2003). The study found that the fathers with higher satisfaction level of their role as a parent also have higher emotion suppression levels in emotion regulation. The higher fathers score at the evaluation of self-efficacy and higher is their sense of parenting competence, the lower levels of the cognitive reassessment can be observed in the regulation of emotions. There are no statistically significant differences in the sense of parental competence and emotional regulation of fathers depending on the age of the child / children.
