Plastmasas atkritumu pārstrāde Latvijā

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā “Plastmasas atkritumu pārstrāde Latvijā” tika veikts pētījums, par esošajiem uzņēmumiem Latvijā, kas nodarbojas ar plastmasas atkritumu pārstrādi. Konkrēti tika apskatīti četri uzņēmumi AS “PET Baltija”, SIA “Nordic Plast”, SIA “Grindplast”, SIA "Why Recycle". Uz doto mirkli šie četri uzņēmumi ir lielākie uzņēmumu Latvijā, kas nodarbojas ar plastmasas atkritumu pārstrādi. Tomēr uzņēmumi spēj pārstrādāt tikai četru veidu plastmasu PET, LDPE, HDPE un PP (kas ir tieši plēves). Darbā tika apskatīts, kāda veida plastmasas produktus uzņēmumi saražo. Apskatīta sīkāka informācija par uzņēmumu finansiālo stāvokli pēdējos gados, tādā veidā meklējot skaidrojumu vai uzņēmumi ir spējīgi veikt turpmāko darbību kā arī paplašināties. Bakalaura darbā tika atspoguļota informācija par plastmasas ķīmiskajām un fizikālajām īpašībām un kāda veida produktus un materiālus ir iespējams iegūt no plastmasas. Tika noskaidrots, ka kopā ir septiņu veidu plastmasas un diemžēl tikai četrus veidus ir iespējams pārstrādāt Latvijā. Pārējie plastmasas izstrādājumi nonāk poligonos. Bakalaura darbā kopumā tika atspoguļota informācija par ES kopējo nostāju plastmasas pārstrādes jomā. Atspoguļota jaunāka informācija, kāda likumdošana un normatīvie akti ir apstiprināti, kas varētu samazināt klimata pārmaiņas un uzlabot pašreizējo situāciju ar atkritumu daudzumu. Pievērsta īpaša uzmanība problēmām, ar ko saskārās pārstrādes uzņēmumi, kā galveno minot dažādu veidu plastmasas iepakojumi, kuru sastāvs ir ar daudz piemaisījumiem, kurus nav iespējams pārstrādāt. Kā arī samilzusī problēma ar zemajām cenām uz plastmasas produktiem, kuri tiek ražot ne no otrreiz pārstrādātas plastmasas tādā veidā pārstrādātājiem radot problēmas ar produkcijas noieta tirgu. Tādā veidā kopsummā darba galvenais mērķis ir tieši uzņēmumi, kas nodarbojas ar plastmasas pārstrādi un viņu problēmas ar kurām viņi saskaras. Atslēgvārdi: Plastmasa, plastmasas pārstrāde.

My bachelor thesis “Plastic waste recycling in Latvia” is a study on existing plastic waste recycling companies operating in Latvia. Four companies are evaluated in total, namely AS “PET Baltija”, SIA “Nordic Plast”, SIA “Grindplast” and SIA "Why Recycle". At the time of writing the aforementioned companies recycle the majority of Latvia's plastic waste. However, the companies can recycle only four distinct types of plastic PET, LDPE, HDPE, and PP (plastic wrap). This thesis also covers the variety of plastic products companies manufacture, also evaluating the financial performance over the past three years. The goal was to discover if the economic activity is sustainable and whether further growth is possible. The bachelor thesis also covers the chemical and physical properties of different plastics, and possible material and product applications for each distinctive type. It was concluded that only four out of seven plastic types can be recycled, the rest ending up in landfills. My bachelor thesis also covers the EU general policy on plastic recycling. It also reflects the latest information and passed laws and regulations that could reverse climate change and reduce the overall amount of waste. Special attention is paid to problems recycling companies face, mainly recycling plastic packaging with various additives that make it impossible to recycle. The low cost of oil-based plastic products disincentivizes procurement and the use of recycled materials, creating a complex market for recycled products and their respective companies.
