The title of this bachelor's thesis is "Manifestations of Korean Traditional and Material Culture in Architecture and Environmental Understanding". Giving tangible things a deeper meaning, and making associations out of it, has always been a way for people to get help in understanding their lives. Especially in the last few years, more and more information about the Korean peninsula has appeared in the mainstream media. Through that, people subconsciously receive more new information. For example, seeing a story covered about one of the two castles mentioned in the text, be it videos or photos taken of the roof or the wall, noticing a symbol, you want to ask yourself, "What does that really mean?" After all, there can be no future without history. History does not need to be repeated, but it can be used to learn and draw inspiration from something new and appropriate for our time. The goals set for the work have been met. For example, even though social and economic stratification in the Johnson period was significantly greater than it is today, it has not disappeared anywhere. Economic and social constraints have simply taken on a different form and manifestation. This work focuses on Korean society during the Joseon Dynasty. As well as how the new philosophy of Confucianism and its norms in the region of the Korean Peninsula at that time affected the lives of the people of that time. It was also the moment when several religions and thought systems began to exist in the Korean Peninsula at the same time. Analyzing the influence of Confucianism as well as the place of shamanism under the new system officially adopted in the country. As many religions existed under Confucianism, and as the hardest practitioners of Confucianism, these religions were considered barbaric and unworthy of the aristocracy, especially men. Bearing in mind that writing this work and analyzing some of the most characteristic forms of residential architecture, the first impressions are created by looking at several visually interesting formations in various traditional architectural forms, sticking to the buildings that were inhabited on a daily basis.
