Tekstuāla un vizuālā semiotika Iana Makjūena romānā "Piedošana" un tā ekranizācijā

Abstract

Šī maģistra darbs ir veltīts pētījumam par Iana Makjuana (Ian McEwan) romāna "Piedošana" (‘Atonement’) semiotiskājiem elementiem, kurus režisors Džo Raits (Joe Wright) vēlāk pārnesa uz ekrāna. Darbs koncentrējas uz teksta oriģināla un tā adaptācijas kinofilmā salīdzinājumu, pētot gan teksta, gan vizuālo attēlojumu no semiotiskās perspektīvas. Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt teksta kinematogrāfiskos atveidojumus, novērtēt tekstuālo un vizuālo zīmju atšķirības un līdzības, kā arī veikt identificēto semiotisko elementu salīdzinošo analīzi un to turpmāko interpretāciju. Pētījuma rezultāti parādīja, ka Džo Raita kinematogrāfiskā adaptācija ir izcila teksta semiotisko elementu reprezentācijas ziņā, kas ļāvusi visaptveroši pārnest oriģinālo nozīmi uz ekrāna.

This thesis is concerned with the study of the semiotic elements in Ian McEwan’s novel ‘Atonement’, which were subsequently conveyed to the screen by the director, Joe Wright. The paper focuses on the comparison between the textual original and its adaptation into the film, exploring both textual and visual portrayals from the semiotic perspective. The main objectives of this research are to study cinematic representations of the text, assess the differences and similarities between the textual and visual signs, as well as to perform a comparative analysis of identified semiotic elements with their subsequent interpretation. The results of the research showed that cinematic adaptation by Joe Wright is formidable in terms of representation of the textual semiotic elements, which allowed the original meaning to be comprehensively transferred to the screen.
