Ievads. Introduction. Even before the Covid-19 pandemic it was known that high school students can also experience burnout. During the pandemic school children have had to not just manage their daily schoolwork, but in addition they also have had to adapt to the distance learning mode and change their everyday life. Materials and Methods. The study was conducted in year 2022, using a survey portal visidati.lv and school management system E-klase, and it included 460 schoolchildren from Latvia. The study participants filled School Burnout Inventory (SBI), which address was published for 10th and 11th grade schoolchildren in the school management system E-klase. IBM SPSS was used for statystical analysis. Results. From 460 respondents, 82% were girls and 18% boys. 47.2% respondents were 16 years old, 40.4% 17 years old, 9.6% 18 years old, 2.2% 15 old and 0.7% 14 years old. 58.7% were from the 10th grade, but 41.3% from the 11th grade. Betweet both genders there were identified statistically significant differences in the exhaustion and lack of competence subscale (p < .001), but in the cynism subscale there were no statistically significant differences (p < .155). There exists statistically significant average positive correlation betweet the exhaustion and cynism subscale (r = .508), exhaustion and lack of competence subscale (r = .498), lack of competence and cynism subscale (r = .569). Consclusions. Girls experience more pronounced emotional exhaustion and lack of competence than boys, but cynisms towards the meaning of school does not differ statsitically significant between both genders.
