Atslēgvārdi: rentgenogramma, MRI, CT, MSCT, PCTA, MRS The topic of the bachelor's thesis is “Application of radiology methods in forensics”. The topicality of this topic is determined by the fact that Latvia has the second highest number of violent deaths and the highest number of homicides in the EU. It is important that the cause of death of about a tenth of the dead is not determined; onesixth of the murders go undetected, and the workload of forensic experts is also high. The question arises, how is it possible to perform optimal forensic examination, and whether and how accuracy and efficiency of it can be increased. The aim of the work is to describe radiology methods in forensics, to study which one is the most effective. Research question: which of the radiology methods in forensics is the most effective? Tasks of the research: to study the essence of forensic medicine and autopsy; to study the essence of different radiological methods in the context of virtual autopsies; to carry out a practical study investigating the effectiveness of virtopsy techniques for different groups of causes of death. Research tool - literature analysis. Research method - qualitative research strategy, design of grounded theory. Results: The answer to the research question is obtained - the most effective radiological methods in forensics are MRI, CT and MSCT. Keywords: radiograph, MRI, CT, MSCT, PCTA, MRS
