Topic: “Positive effects of a colorectal cancer screening test on patient stress levels.” Topicality: Data show that 70% of patients who have contracted colorectal cancer die prematurely due to complications, which is one of the worst rates in the world. The main reason for premature death is delayed diagnostic, because despite paid screening, people are reluctant to involve in the screening or the early detection of cancer program, and one reason for this is the lack of information provided by family doctors and nurses. In 2019 colorectal cancer screening test has been conducted by about 95 thousand or 15% of the population age 50-74. In 2020 approximately 93 thousand inhabitants or 14,6% have conducted a screening test for colorectal cancer, while in 2021 only 60 thousand or 18,8% of the population. Goal of the present study: Find out the impact of a positive colorectal cancer screening test on patient stress levels. Research hypothesis: Women are more stressed than men by positive colorectal cancer screening test. Research method: Quantitative method. Research Instrument: Questionnaire. Research results: Statistical data analysis shows that there is a statistically significant relation between the respondents' residence and the notification of the CRV screening test results (p < 0,001). There is a statistically significant relation between the sex of respondents and the need for a CRV screening test (p = 0,002). A statistically significant relation also exists between responding sex and waiting for the KRV screening test response (p = 0,007). There is also a statistically significant relation between respondents' sex and the moment they learned that the CRV screening test was positive (p < 0,001). A statistically significant relation (p = 0,007) is identified between the sex of the respondents and the time they learned that an additional examination (colonoscopy or lower endoscopy) was required, and a statistically significant relation between the sex of the respondents and the waiting period until the examination (p = 0,002) was detected. Key words: colorectal cancer, colorectal cancer screening test, stress, emotional and physical condition.
