Theme of Bachelor’s Thesis: “Nurse stereotypes about HIV/AIDS patients”. The problem of the research is topical, because in 2020, Latvia was ranked second in Europe with newly discovered HIV cases. Many foreign studies have shown that among nurse’s, negative stereotypes about PLWH hinder HIV prevention and treatment. Important factors that contribute to stigma are knowledge, level of education and experience in care with HIV patients. Therefore, the aim of the study is to find out stereotypes among nurses about HIV/AIDS patients. The literature on HIV/AIDS and stereotypes about HIV/AIDS patients, as well as J.Watson’s nursing theory were considered and analyzed within the Bachelor’s framework. The study was carried out using a quantitative, cross-sectional method, the research tool – a survey in which 116 nurses took part of. The results of the research show that negative stereotypes among nurses about PLWH still exist because 46,6% of nurses believe that HIV can be transmitted through casual contact and 34,5% of respondents fully believe that HIV/AIDS patients with undetectable viral load are at risk of infecting others. The study hypothesis was confirmed since the results show that nurses who have attended continuing education courses on HIV/AIDS and patient care had better knowledge and attitudes toward PLWH. Key words: nurse, knowledge, stereotypes, HIV/AIDS, HIV/AIDS patients
