Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēma „ Demences pacientu aprūpe ilglaicīgās sociālās aprūpes iestādē”. Sakarā ar dzīves ilguma palielināšanos, visā pasaulē pieaug gados vecu cilvēku skaits , kuriem tiek uzstādīta dizgnoze – demence. Šī slimība nav ārstējama, tādēļ ļoti liela uzmanība ir jāpievērš demences pacientu aprūpei, pacients ar diagnozi „demence” agrāk vai vēlāk zaudē savas pašaprūpes spējas, un kļūst pilnībā atkarīgs no apkārtējiem, kā arī bieži vien savas slimības vēlīnajās stadijās nonāk ilglaicīgās sociālās aprūpes iestādē. Šādu cilvēku aprūpe prasa īpašas zināšanas un pacietību. Bakalaura darba teorētiskajā daļā tika analizēta zinātniskā literatūra par demences pacientu aprūpi ilglaicīgās sociālās aprūpes iestādēs, pievēršot īpašu uzmanību nefarmokoloģiskās terapijas veidiem, kurus pielietojot, tiek panākta slimības progresēšanas gaitas attālināšana un būtiska demences pacienta kognitīvo spēju uzlabošanās. Darba praktiskajā daļā tika pielietota kvalitatīvā pētniecības metode, tika izstrādāta daļēji strukturēta intervija māsām lai noskaidrotu demences pacientu aprūpi ilglaicīgās socialās aprūpes iestādēs. Pētījuma rezultātos tika iegūta atbilde uz pētījuma jautājumu – Kāda ir demences pacientu aprūpe ilglaicīgās sociālās aprūpes iestādē ? The topic of the Bachelor's thesis is “Care of dementia patients in long-term social care facilities.” Due to increasing life expectancy, the number of elderly people diagnosed with dementia is increasing throughout the world. This disease is incurable, so great attention must be paid to the care of dementia patients. Patients diagnosed with dementia will sooner or later lose their ability to care for themselves, become completely dependent on people in their life and often end up in a long-term social care facility in the late stages of their disease. Caring for such people requires special knowledge and patience. The theoretical part of the Bachelor's thesis analyses the scientific literature on the care of dementia patients in long-term social care facilities, paying special attention to the types of non-pharmacological therapies that delay the progression of the disease and significantly improve the cognitive abilities of dementia patients. In the practical part of the thesis, a qualitative research method has been used and a semi-structured interview with nurses has been developed to determine the type of care of dementia patients in long-term social care facilities. The results of the research provided an answer to the research question: What is the type of care for dementia patients in long-term social care facilities?
