Bachelor theme: care after cataract surgery in outpatient practice. Topicality of the topic is justified / determined by that that visual impairments restrict orientation in the environment, create a sense of insecurity in the room and when moving in the outside. Cataract prevention surgery is very safe and almost always successful, but the postoperative period, the patient's well-being and the implementation of recommendations are essential. Nurses play a big role in this. Research on cataract-related care is needed because the findings will help improve the quality of patient care. Purpose of the work: clarify patient care problems after cataract surgery in outpatient practice. Research tasks: 1. Analyze D. Orem's theory of self-care in relation to patient care after cataract surgery. 2. Conduct literature analysis on cataract surgery and patient care. 3. Develop interview questions for nurses. 4. Conduct interviews with nurses practicing in outpatient practice. 5. Summarize and analyze the results. 6. Draw conclusions and make recommendations. Research question: What are the primary care problems after cataract surgery in outpatient practice? Research method: qualitative method. Research instrument: semi-structured interview. Study results show that senior patients need to explain everything very carefully. Make sure the information is understood correctly. Nurses have a great deal of responsibility for how and whether patients will be able to perform self-care activities in the postoperative period. Self-care is not a matter of course for the patient. There are situations when this is impossible. Care problems are related to the very precise execution of instructions in the postoperative period, if the instructions are not followed exactly on a daily basis – complete blindness of the eye can occur.
