Žurnālistu reprezentācija filmās "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" un "Nothing But the Truth"

Abstract

Bakalaura darba “Žurnālistu reprezentācija filmās “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot” un “Nothing But the Truth”” mērķis ir analizēt, kā filmās reprezentēti žurnālisti. Reprezentācijas aspektus iespējams mainīt, izvēloties dažādus kinematogrāfiskos elementus. Šī iemesla dēļ darba teorijas daļā aplūkota semiotikas, naratīva un reprezentācijas teorija, kā arī žurnālistu raksturojošās profesijas iezīmes. Metodoloģijas daļā aprakstīta semiotikas un naratīva analīze, kas izmantota darba empīriskajā daļā, lai veiktu secinājumus par žurnālistu reprezentāciju izvēlētajās filmās. Empīriskajā daļā iegūti secinājumi par to, ka filmās izmantotie kinematogrāfiskie elementi ietekmē veidu, kā skatītāji var interpretēt žurnālistu reprezentāciju.

The aim of the bachelor's thesis “Representation of journalists in films “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot” and “Nothing But the Truth”” is to analyse how journalists are represented in films. Aspects of representation can be changed by choosing different cinematographic elements. The theory of semiotics, narrative and representation, as well as the characteristics of the journalistic profession, will be summarized in theoretical part. The methodology section describes the semiotics and narrative analysis used in the empirical part of the paper to draw conclusions about the representation of journalists in selected films. The empirical part concludes that the cinematographic elements used in films influence the way viewers can interpret representation of journalists.
