Abstract

Personas vārds un uzvārds kalpo gan kā personas identificēšanas elements, gan arī ir daļa no personas identitātes. Personas identitāte laikam ejot var mainīsities, attiecīgi personai var rasties grūtības sevi identificēt ar esošo vārdu vai uzvārdu. Tāpēc personām ir tiesības mainīt vārdu vai uzvārdu. Darba mērķis ir analizēt personas tiesības uz vārdu un uzvārdu personas identitātes, kas aizsargāta pamattiesību uz privāto dzīvi tvērumā, kontekstā. Darba izstrādes gaitā autore secināja, ka personas vārds un uzvārds ir daļa no personas identitātes un valstij, lai persona vienmēr varētu identificēt sevi ar savu personvārdu, ir jānodrošina personai mainīt vārdu vai uzvārdu. Personas tiesības mainīt vārdu un uzvārdu izriet no personas tiesībām uz privāto dzīvi un šī tiesības nav absolūtas, valsts tās var ierobežot.

The right of a person to change his or her name and surname, which derives from the person's right to private life and this right is not absolute, may be restricted by the state.
