CLIL pieeja angļu valodas apguves veicināšanai piecgadīgiem bērniem pirmsskolā

Abstract

Kvalifikācijas darba “CLIL pieeja angļu valodas apguves veicināšanai piecgadīgiem bērniem pirmsskolā” mērķis ir izpētīt, vai ar CLIL pieeju ir iespējams veicināt angļu valodas kā otrās valodas apguvi 5 gadus veciem bērniem pirmsskolā. Kompetenču izglītība neparedz angļu valodas apgūšanu pirmsskolā, tomēr liela daļa bērnu jau spēj atšķirt angļu valodu no dzimtās valodas, kā arī zina gana daudz vārdu šajā svešvalodā, lai varētu nopietni apsvērt domu par šo zināšanu uzturēšanu un papildināšanu jau agrīnā vecumā pirmsskolā. Tādēļ pētījuma uzdevumos tika izvirzīts: raksturot CLIL pieejas saturu un metodiku pirmsskolā, raksturot sasniedzamo rezultātu angļu valodas apguvē pirmsskolā, izmēģināt CLIL pieeju praksē un, apkopojot pētījuma rezultātus, izstrādāt ieteikumus turpmākajā darbībā. Pētījuma teorētiskās metodes ir literatūras analīze, un empīriskās metodes ir pedagoģiskais novērojums un pedagoģiskā izmēģinājumdarbība. Teorijas analīzē tika aprakstīta pieejas būtība, izceļot četrus to veidojošos faktorus: saturs, izziņa, komunikācija un kultūra, kam ir jābūt iekļautiem katrā CLIL nodarbībā. Tāpat, sastādot izmēģinājumprogrammu, tika ņemts vērā pieejai raksturīgais satura un svešvalodas proporcijas mainīgums, kas arī bija viena no praktiskās daļas programmas īstenošanas veiksmes atslēgām. Tika secināts, ka CLIL pieeja sava elastīguma dēļ ir ļoti ērti pielāgojama notikumiem bagātajai pirmsskolas ikdienai, kā arī citu svešvalodas apguves metožu vidū to izceļ uzmanība, kas veltīta etniskās identitātes un kultūras jautājumiem.

The aim of the research paper titled CLIL approach to teaching English to five-year-old children in preschool is to find out whether it is possible to promote acquisition of the English language in preschool using CLIL method. Nowadays the understanding of the English language is not an obligatory skill for children to have in preschool, however, because of the use of digital tools at home, a great part of five-year-olds already distinguish the English language from their mother tongue, and also know a sufficient amount of foreign words for teachers to consider ways to maintain and develop this knowledge even further. Therefore, the objectives of the research include: to describe the method of CLIL and teaching methods used in preschool, to characterize estimated results in the English language for preschoolers, to implement CLIL method in preschool work practice, and, summarizing research results, to develop recommendations for further activities. The theoretical methods are the literature analysis, and empirical methods are pedagogical observation and pedagogical test-pregramme. It was described in the theoretical part that the essence of the CLIL method are the four “C’s”, namely, content, cognition, communication and culture, that every CLIL lesson has to contain. Likewise, when writing the test-programme, the variability of the proportion of the foreign language and the content of the lesson was taken into account, this being one of the keys to successful implementation of the said test- programme. It was concluded that the flexibility of it is the flexibility of the CLIL approach that makes it a success in a second language acquisition process in preschool. Also, it is an irreplaceable plus of the approach that it pays deep respect to the ethnic culture and the mother tongue of an early foreign language learner.
