Patriotisma un nacionālisma saistības ar ticību sazvērestības teorijām

Abstract

Patriotisms, nacionālisms un sazvērestības teorijas ir svarīgas sociālajā un politiskajā dzīvē. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt patriotisma, nacionālisma un sazvērestību mentalitātes saistības. Darbā izmantotas I. Austera un V. Silkānes patriotisma un nacionālisma skala (Austers & Silkāne, 2022) un A. Stojanovas un Dž. Halberštada sazvērestību mentalitātes skala (Stojanov & Halberstadt, 2019), apkopojot 199 Latvijas respondentu atbildes. Korelācijas un regresijas analīzes liecina, ka nacionālisms pozitīvi korelē ar sazvērestību mentalitāti, skepticismu un sazvērestību ideju veidošanu, kā arī ir nozīmīgs prognozētājs, līdzās izglītībai, savukārt patriotisms neuzrāda nozīmīgas saistības. Ņemot vērā rezultātus, valdošajai varai nebūtu ieteicams atbalstīt vai pat vēlams ierobežot nacionālismu, jo tas var negatīvi ietekmēt tās vērtējumu.

Patriotism, nationalism, and conspiracy theories play a significant role in social and political life. The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to explore the relationship between patriotism, nationalism, and conspiracy mentality. The study uses patriotism and nationalism scale by I. Austers and V.Silkane (2022) and conspiracy mentality scale by A.Stojanov and J. Halberstadt (2019) and included 199 Latvian respondents. Correlation and regression analyses reveal that nationalism was positively associated with conspiracy mentality, conspiracy ideation and scepticism, showing predictive strength along with education, however patriotism did not show any significant correlations with these variables. According to the results the ruling power should not encourage nationalism and even mitigate it as high levels of nationalism could lead to its negative evaluation.
