Disability can be a barrier to a person not only in their daily lives but also in their professional life. Due to limited working capacity and prejudice, people with disabilities are often disadvantaged by denying equal support for employment opportunities. However, this growing group of people cannot be socially excluded, on the contrary, they need to be protected and integrated into society, including the labor market. The fight for equality in employment requires support not only from employers but also from the state. The aim of the master's thesis is to indicate the legal aspects of employment of persons with disabilities by analyzing the regulation and employment situation of persons with disabilities in Latvia. Evaluating the international practice, the experience and work practice established in the author's master's thesis, which could contribute to people with disabilities promotion of employment in Latvia.
