In Latvia, alongside the demand for democracy, there is the demand for the rule of law, in the protection of which the Constitutional Court plays a central role. The aim of constitutional review is to protect the Constitution, but it cannot be realised without the enforcement of judgments of the Constitutional Court. In recent years, the question of the effectiveness of the enforcement of the judgments of the Constitutional Court and the possible mechanisms for its improvement has been raised in Latvia, because the legislator does not always choose to make appropriate changes to the regulation. The master's thesis examines the enforcement of the judgments of the Constitutional Court in theory and practice in order to reach a conclusion about the necessity and usefulness of implementing the mechanism of the enforcement of the judgments of the Constitutional Court in Latvia. In the master's thesis is concluded that there are several mechanisms that could be normatively regulated and established in Latvia, but it is to be recognized that they would probably not fulfill their function in important, sensitive and political issues for the society.
