The bachelor thesis “Rally, rallycross and drift 2021 season coverage in the latvian internet portals “lsm.lv”, “delfi.lv”, “sportacentrs.com” and “go4speed.lv”” researched the coverage of motorsport publications in the period from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021 in the internet portals “lsm.lv”, “delfi.lv”, “sportacentrs.com” and “go4speed.lv”. The theoretical part of the thesis contains insights into motorsport, public media, commercial media, online media, sports journalism, media agenda, and social representation. The empirical part of the bachelor thesis uses quantitative content analysis, moderately structured interviews, and a research design. The research reveals that the coverage of motorsport disciplines is unequal from one internet portal to another, and this is particularly noticeable on specialised internet portals. Rally dominates all the internet portals reviewed, while drifting is the most under-reported. Latvian internet portals cover Latvian and foreign drivers equally. The research shows that the internet portals publish more about motorsport events worldwide and in Europe, but less about issues in Latvia and the Baltics.
