The aim of the Bachelor's thesis "Political Business Cycles and Public Support" is to investigate political business cycle models and conduct a study on the impact of factors and politicians’ manipulations on public support for political parties in Latvia, as well as the existence of political business cycles in Latvia. The work was divided into three chapters: In the theoretical part of the thesis, the concept and essence of the political business cycle were examined, as well as the political business cycle model proposed by V. Nordhaus and D. MacRae, which encompasses political processes, changes in the popularity of political leaders, and their connection to the economic situation in the country. Aspects of voting behavior theories and its role in political decision-making, government legitimacy were also explored. In the analytical part, a survey of Latvian residents was conducted and analyzed, along with official information and statistical data, in order to determine the factors that influence voters choice and the political position of Latvian citizens. In the research part, a multivariate linear regression model was developed and analyzed to investigate the existence of the political business cycles in Latvia.
