The topic of the chosen bachelor’s thesis is „Non – drug analgesia methods for a patient with migraine”. The significance of the topic was determined by the data obtained while researching the global prevalence of migraine – reaching an average of 14,4% of the total population, migraine is said to be third most common neurological disease in the world, affecting mainly people of working age, their quality of life and professional activity and therefore, the national economy. The work was carried out with the aim of finding out non – drug analgesia methods for a patient with migraine. In order to achieve this goal, the following tasks were set – analyze and apply Dorothea Orem’s nursing theory, analyze literature sources on migraine and non – drug analgesia methods, create a narrative interview plan to find out non – drug analgesia methods for a patient with migraine, conduct an interview with patients who have been diagnosed with migraine, summarize, analyze the results and present conclusions. The research asked the question – what are the non – drug analgesia methods for a patient with migraine? Within the framework of the work, the qualitative research method is used, the instrument is an interview. The study participants are 10 patients diagnosed with migraine. Non – drug analgesia methods for a patient with migraine are physiotherapy, massage, acupuncture, aromatherapy, neuromodulation, yoga, cold compresses, breathing exercises, cognitive behavioral therapy, progressive muscle relaxation, biofeedback, osteoreflexotherapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation, massage cupping, homeopathy, pilates and massage set Pranamat ECO. Effective non – drug analgesia methods for a patient with migraine are cold compresses, cognitive behavioral therapy, biofeedback, transcranial magnetic stimulation, massage cupping, homeopathy and pilates. Ineffective non – drug analgesia methods for a patient with migraine are yoga, acupuncture, neuromodulation, osteoreflexotherapy, breathing exercises and massage set Pranamat ECO. Migraine causing or aggravating non – drug analgesia methods are aromatherapy, massage and physiotherapy. Bachelor’s thesis consists of 60 pages, 6 chapters, 16 subsections, 2 figures, 14 tables and 3 appendices. The list of used literature sources includes 59 literature sources.
