Vispārējās aprūpes māsu viedoklis par eitanāzijas legalizēšanu Latvijā

Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēma ir “Vispārējās aprūpes māsu viedoklis par eitanāzijas legalizēšanu Latvijā”. Tēmas aktualitāti pamato tas, ka vēl nesen - 2021. gadā 10 505 Latvijas iedzīvotāji ar savu parakstu bija apliecinājuši eitanāzijas legalizācijas Latvijā iniciatīvu, kas tika iesniegta Latvijas Republikas Saeimā izskatīšanai, tomēr 2021.gada 25.marta sēdē Saeima šo iniciatīvu noraidīja. Minētās iniciatīvas aktualizēšana un lielais parakstījušos pilsoņu skaits, pieļaujams, norāda uz samilzušo kvalitatīvas un cieņpilnas paliatīvās aprūpes pieejamības problēmu, kas izcelta arī valstiskā līmenī. Darba mērķis bija noskaidrot stacionārā strādājošo vispārējās aprūpes māsu viedokli par eitanāzijas legalizēšanu Latvijā. Pētniecības uzdevumi ir sekojoši. Bija nepieciešams iepazīties ar literatūru par autonomiju un tiesībām uz dzīvību, par eitanāziju, tās veidiem un ētiskiem aspektiem māsas praksē, un veikt aptauju ar stacionārā strādājošām aprūpes māsām, lai noskaidrot viņu viedokli par eitanāzijas legalizēšanu Latvijā. Darba nobeigumā tika apkopoti pētījumā iegūtie aptaujas datu rezultāti, un pamatojoties uz tiem, tika izdarīti secinājumi un ieteikti priekšlikumi. Pētījuma gaitā tika izmantota kvantitatīvā pētījuma metode – aptaujas. Pētījuma rezultāti atklāja faktu, ka aprūpējot neglābjami slimus pacientus, ar ko māsām nākas saskarties visbiežāk, nebūtu gatavi piedalīties eitanāzijas procedūrā, bet būtu gatavi gan nodrošināt komfortu mirstošam pacientam, gan arī būtu gatavi sniegt atbalstu mirušā tuviniekiem.

The topic of the bachelors work is “General care nurses opinion on the legalization of euthanasia in Latvia”. The topicality of the topic is justified by the fact that until recently - in 2021, 10,505 Latvian residents had signed the initiative to legalize euthanasia in Latvia, which was submitted to the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia for consideration, however, at the meeting of March 25, 2021, the Saeima rejected this initiative. The actualization of the mentioned initiative and the large number of citizens who have signed it indicate, admittedly, the reduced problem of access to quality and respectful palliative care, which has also been highlighted at the national level. The aim of the work was to find out the opinion of general care nurses working in inpatient facilities about the legalization of euthanasia in Latvia. The research tasks are as follows. It was necessary to get acquainted with the literature on autonomy and the right to life, on euthanasia, its types and ethical aspects in nursing practice, and to conduct a survey with nursing nurses working in a hospital in order to find out their opinion on the legalization of euthanasia in Latvia. At the end of the work, the results of the survey data obtained in the study were summarized, and based on them, conclusions were drawn and proposals were suggested. In the course of the research, a quantitative research method was used - surveys. The results of the study revealed the fact that when taking care of terminally ill patients, which nurses have to deal with most often, they would not be ready to participate in the euthanasia procedure, but would be ready both to provide comfort to the dying patient and would also be ready to provide support to the relatives of the deceased.
