The topic of the bachelor's thesis – "The most common risk factors of acute coronary syndrome". The work collects up-to-date information by applying self-care theory of Dorothea Orem. To achieve the goal, tasks were compiled and a hypothesis was put forward: "The most common risk factor for acute coronary syndrome associated with a conscious unhealthy way of life is smoking". As a result, data are obtained and analyzed, after the processing of which, conclusions are put forward. For the realization of the research, a quantitative research method was used, which was implemented with the help of a questionnaire. 100 respondents participated in the study. The work consists of two parts – theoretical and empirical. In the theoretical part, the literature on acute coronary syndrome and its risk factors was analyzed. In the empirical part, the methodology of the described study a and the analysis of the results is carried out. Based on the results of the study, the hypothesis of the bachelor's thesis has been partially confirmed. The work consists of 63 pages, 29 images, 2 tables, and 7 attachments. The work used 37 literary sources, of which 31 were in Latvian and 6 in English.
